The building block is the CarouSol
GreenVolts’ concentrating photovoltaic (CPV) system is the most advanced and highest efficiency solar technology available. The building block of the solution is the CarouSol, a 3 kW two-axis tracker, onto which multiple Power Pack units are mounted.
Each Power Pack is made up of numerous reflectors and receivers. The receiver consists of a passive heat sink, a multi-junction solar cell and a secondary optic. At 19’ in diameter and 38” high, the CarouSols’ widespread, low profile design minimizes issues associated with wind loading and is self-stabilizing to eliminate the need for ground penetration and concrete supports. By avoiding these permanent foundations, which are used in all other pole-mounted CPV solutions, GreenVolts’ projects are easier to permit and install, which further reduce total costs.
