- Bob Cart, Chairman & Chief Executive Officer (a)
Before founding GreenVolts, Bob spent over 20 years in leadership positions starting with Industrial Cutting Die (ICD), a precision machine tool manufacturer. As its CEO, and later board member, Bob was responsible for all facets of the business which led to its later sale to Enefco International. He later became Senior VP of Product & Brand Management for 1st Financial Bank USA and President of its 1FB.net subsidiary. Bob was VP of Engineering for Cybergold, where he helped lead that company to its $174 million IPO. Bob was inspired to invent the company’s patent-pending CarouSol concentrating PV technology while on an 18 month Pacific ocean voyage. The technical challenges of living off the grid in a brutal ocean environment helped drive the efficiency and reliability of the GreenVolts technology design. Bob’s vision, leadership, and technical expertise are helping GreenVolts reach its mission to deliver the world’s lowest cost solar energy solution on a massive scale. - Gary Beasley, Chief Financial Officer (b)
Gary Beasley, Chief Financial Officer, has a deep background in finance, real estate, M&A, operations and strategy. Gary most recently served as President and Chief Financial Officer for ZipRealty, Inc., where he spent five years developing and executing the company’s innovative business model and quarterbacked the company through its successful IPO. Prior to joining ZipRealty he spent seven years with KSL Resorts, a luxury resort affiliate of Kohlberg Kravis Robert & Co, where he helped negotiate and execute approximately $800 million dollars worth of acquisitions. Gary serves on the board of directors for A Place for Mom and NewHomes Realty, Inc., and he has been an advisor/private investor for several Bay Area start-ups. He holds a BA in Economics from Northwestern University and an MBA from Stanford Business School. - Birute Adams, Chief Operating Officer (c)
Birute Adams, Chief Operating Officer, was previously CEO of Sheffield Consulting a global management consulting firm specializing in the design and implementation of strategic reengineering programs that focus on people, processes and technology and in the development of new products. She worked closely with Bob Cart at 1st Financial Bank, USA where she pioneered the Bank’s comprehensive strategic, financial, and executive management systems. Previously, she spent 10 years at Citicorp/ Citibank, N.A., serving as Senior Vice President responsible for global marketing, product development and management, sales and communications for the Global Financial Transactions Division. Birute received her BA from Boston College. - Richard Raushenbush, Vice President and General Counsel (d)
Before joining GreenVolts as the General Counsel, Richard spent 20 years in the Environment, Land & Resources Department and Litigation Department at Latham & Watkins where his practice was centered on environmental, land use and administrative litigation. Mr. Raushenbush has extensive experience representing public utilities before the California Public Utilities Commission and in court regarding electric transmission, electric generation, and natural gas transmission. He also has extensive experience in judicial and administrative actions regarding environmental issues. Mr. Raushenbush has litigated environmental cases throughout California’s federal and state courts, as well as federal courts in Texas, Indiana and Maryland. He also has dealt with the EPA and California state agencies in both court and administrative enforcement proceedings. Richard holds a JD from the University of Virginia School of Law and a BA from Harvard University. - Christopher Wood, Senior Vice President, Operations (e)
Christopher brings to GreenVolts over 25 years experience in management, engineering and manufacturing positions with such companies as Hughes Electronics, Allied Signal, The Boeing Company, and Donnelly Corporation. For the past eight years, he was the CEO of Ten X Ventures where he worked with over 30 companies as they have adopted and implemented the A3 lean thinking principles and techniques. These companies product lines were as diverse as financial services, wireless telephone equipment, aircraft interiors, aircraft body structures, electronic sensors, medical devices, computer keyboards and disk drives, automotive trim components, aluminum & titanium mills and commercial lighting systems. They ranged in size from small, family owned businesses to multi-national corporations. Christopher holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering Technology from the Oregon Institute of Technology. - Greg Wagoner Ph.D., VP Product Management (f)
Greg Wagoner, VP Product Management, has over fifteen years of optoelectronics and Product Development/Management experience. Most recently, Greg was a Product Line Manager at JDS Uniphase, Integrated Waveguide Business Unit, where he helped lead the development and commercialization of a suite of industry-leading integrated optical waveguide products. Previously, Greg was a Product Manager/Optical Physicist at Molecular OptoElectronics Corporation, where he led the design and commercialization of the company’s most successful high performance fiber optic components. Greg holds a PhD in Physics (Ultrafast Optoelectronics) from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and a MBA from Columbia University. - Eric Romo, VP Project Development (g)
Eric Romo, VP Project Development, most recently worked for Greenrock Capital, a private equity firm investing in alternative energy projects, and previously was an Associate in the Investment Bank of Citigroup. Before deciding to pursue a career in finance, Eric was lead analyst in the Propulsion group of Space Exploration Technologies, where he helped design and test rocket engines. In addition to his Stanford MBA, Eric has a MS in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford and a BE in Mechanical Engineering from The Cooper Union. - John Herb Ph.D., VP Advanced Technologies (h)
John Herb, VP Advanced Technologies, has over twenty years of experience successfully managing the development and commercialization of high tech products. He has extensive background developing semiconductor materials and processes, including optical microwave materials by MOCVD and MBE. He was a pioneer of diamond film technology, serving as CEO of P1 Diamond and Vice President and General Manager, of Crystallume, where he was part of the team that led its IPO. John has held management and development positions at Hewlett Packard’s Optoelectronics Division (now LumiLEDs) and Gould Microwave Products. He has 11 patents and holds a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Washington. - Shaun Ferguson, VP Global Supply Chain (i)
Shaun Ferguson, VP Global Supply Chain, has more than 20 years in manufacturing and outsourced management. Prior to joining Greenvolts, Mr. Ferguson held a number of positions in the contract manufacturing industry, including VP of Global Operations for Sanmina-SCI where he was responsible for program and product managers worldwide. While there, he also built a worldwide team managing one of Sanmina’s largest strategic accounts. In this role, Mr. Ferguson was responsible for new product introduction from its conception through to its deployment and implementation in low cost regions. He has also built and managed teams in both materials and manufacturing operations for the Aerospace industry at Space Systems Loral and Northrop Grumman. - Craig Lewis, VP Government Relations (j)
Craig Lewis, VP Government Relations, has over 20 years of experience working in high growth industries, including renewables, wireless, and semiconductors. Prior to joining GreenVolts, Mr. Lewis was a principal consultant to the renewable energy and electric vehicle industries, and he spearheaded energy policy development for Steve Westly’s 2006 gubernatorial campaign in California. Mr. Lewis is one of the leading renewable energy strategists and advocates in California; leading the effort on effective policy mechanisms like Feed-In Tariffs (FITs). Mr. Lewis has held senior government relations, corporate development, and marketing positions at wireless and semiconductor leaders, including Qualcomm, Ericsson, LinCom Wireless, Comarco Wireless, and Altera. He was active in the strategic planning and lobbying efforts to obtain the long-sought approval of CDMA technology in China; and has led the establishment of several successful business operations in Asia. Mr. Lewis received his MBA and MSEE from the University of Southern California, and his BSEE from UC Berkeley.
